Returning to the sea, in summer 2009 for the second year at the top there is the Isola del Giglio (GR), which won the top step of the podium for the excellent sustainability and protection of terrestrial and coastal e per aver prestato particolare attenzione al verde pubblico, alla raccolta differenziata e alla mobilità sostenibile. La raccolta differenziata raggiunge il 30% 15% in winter and summer rates excellent for a smaller island. Also significant commitment to the conservation and sustainability of the island of Giannutri representing one of the most special and interesting from the naturalistic point of view of the archipelago Toscano.La second position is held by the three towns of the Cinque Terre National Park in Liguria, or Riomaggiore, Vernazza and Monterosso. The Park has established a virtuous balance between economic development linked to local and typical products of the land "reclaimed from the sea and the protection, preservation and maintenance of a landscape created by man and therefore in need of constant care. This constant work attracts a responsible tourism, made up of people wanting to know the places and the history of the Cinque Terre. The completion of the work to implement the lift making it fully accessible to disabled people all the way to Love Street. Sustainability is also guaranteed by the laboratories that use local products for the production of cosmetics and food products. All this was possible only thanks to the constant search for quality of life that characterizes the tireless work of the Park and its inhabitants. Domus de Maria (Ca) which is in third place, as well as for its beautiful beaches stands for the effectiveness of the project for the preservation of the dunes with access all'arenile walkways, parking areas, garbage collection, signs and protected by fencing. Through an intervention of environmental engineering based on natural materials and biodegradable materials (wood, coconut fibers, reeds and strings) has begun the recovery of the vast dune system Chia affected by degradation and erosion. These special techniques have a minimal impact on ecological balance and do not alter the visual perception of the place. The pearl of the Cilento, inches (Sa), with the coastal resorts and Acciaroli Poplars, the only reality bell at the top of the standings, is positioned behind the podium. In addition to work for the conservation of the landscape that has characterized the action of the City of Pollica the past year, the administration has given birth to three initiatives that are going in the direction of improved environmental sustainability and quality supply mainly to the weak. Among those launching the construction of a sailing center in the project "A beach for all", the creation of a dual behavior in the homes of the town to save water and an effective system of collection, characterized by the production of an island green that has enabled the small town of Cilento happy to be a small oasis in a region that in recent years is in serious garbage crisis. Also in Maremma on the fifth place finish from Capalbio (Gr), winner of the 2007 edition, for their excellent level of sustainability and the protection of the coastal and open land (environment, landscape, rural economy and agriculture). Many initiatives aimed at the promotion and utilization of local products. Strong commitment to the collection of waste and on the front of the diffusion of renewable energy sources and energy conservation, with particular attention to the efficiency of public buildings. By attention to saving resources comes the new path taken to achieve certification for ISO 14001 and EMAS registration II. The following Castiglione della Pescaia (Gr) which has a coastline that remains in good condition thanks to conservation projects aimed in particular to the ecosystem dunale. E poi per la promozione della mobilità sostenibile e realizzazione di parcheggi scambiatori "lasci l'auto - prendi la bici" e per l'impegno sul fronte energie rinnovabili e raccolta differenziata nei confronti dei cittadini. Attenzione anche sul fronte della mobilità sostenibile con progetti di ampliamento dell'offerta di piste ciclabili sia nel capoluogo comunale che nella frazione di Punta Ala.
